Residence by Investment Program Overview

Latvia's Golden Visa has been operational since 2010 and saw its investor application volume peak in 2014, a year during which Latvia approved some 2,500 applicants. Application volume has grown considerably.

With a minimum investment threshold of just 50,000 EUR, it remains most affordable routes to residency by investment.

Under the updated framework, residence permits are now issued for an initial 2-year period, renewable for a further period. Latvian residency continues to provide a pathway to permanent residency and citizenship: a minimum of 5 years of residency is required for PR, and a minimum of 10 years for citizenship.

Temporary residence permit in Latvia for investors who have invested at least 50,000 EUR in company's share-capital.

Investor residence permit in Latvia is issued for 2 years period and can be renewed. After 5 years investor can apply for permanent residence permit in Latvia.

Requirements:

Passport: A valid passport is necessary.

Investment: An investment of at least 50,000 EUR.

State Fee: A one-time state fee of 10,000 EUR must be paid.

* After 5 years of residence, renewing within 90 days with the investment unchanged, a state fee of 2,000 EUR payment applies.

Sufficient Funds: Proof of financial stability is needed.

Source of Income: Documents that confirm the origin of income.

Clean Criminal Record: A clean criminal record is mandatory.

Legal Fees: Payment of legal fees is required for processing and handling the application.
